French Louis XIV Style Late 19th Century Beech Fauteuil with Leather Upholstery

A French Louis XIV style beechwood fauteuil from the late 19th century, with leather upholstery, scrolling arms and X-form cross stretcher. Born in France during the last quarter of the 19th century, this exquisite beechwood armchair presents the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XIV era. Upholstered in a brown leather with nailhead trim, the fauteuil features a slanted back connected to two large scrolling arms sitting upon two frontal supports with gadroon motifs. The leather seat is raised on four turned legs connected to one another through a curving X-form cross stretcher, while the ensemble is resting on bun feet. With its stately Louis XIV lines and lovely patina, this French beechwood fauteuil circa 1880 will bring a stylish presence to any living room, bedroom or office.
