English Victorian 19th Century Hand-Colored Framed Lithograph of a Felis Pardina

An English hand-colored lithograph of a Felis Pardina lynx by J.Smit after Joseph Wolf, printed by M & N Hanhart and set in a wooden frame. Created in England during the reign of Queen Victoria, this lithograph depicts a Felis Pardina (whose scientific name was proposed by Coenraad Jacob Temminck in 1827) crawling down a branch. Showcasing a spotted coat, the Felis Pardina lynx is one of the major predators of the colder regions of Europe and Asia. Feeding on various animals such as hares and rabbits (depicted below the tree), the lynx is blending with its surroundings. Set inside a custom wooden frame with matting, the lithograph is titled in the center and mentions "J. Wolf. & J Smit, del et lith" on the left, and "M & N Hanhart imp" on the right. A wonderful addition to any wall.
