Caltagirone Polychrome Terracotta Sculpture

Ancient polychrome terracotta shepherd made in the furnaces of Caltagirone, depicting an elderly character "who returns from work with a cloak on his shoulders" Scapular "while smoking a pipe and carrying a bag in his hand. Popular character of Sicilian realism, made by the master figurative artist Branciforti. The sculpture is in excellent condition, intact and perfect and is signed at the base.
